Exercise a Little is All it Takes

As an exercise enthusiast, the bad news is that less than 20% of the American population works out often enough or hard enough to experience the benefits of being fit.

The good news is not everyone needs to or wants to exercise to "be fit." Just a little exercise can benefit you greatly. As little as 90 minutes a week (that's less than 14 minutes per day) of at-your-own-pace exercise can benefit you mentally and physically.

How's this for a start: (minimum amount of exercise for moderate fitness)

WOMEN

walk two miles in under 30 minutes at least three days a week

or,

walk two miles in 30-40minutes, five to six days a week

MEN

walk two miles in under 27-minutes at least three days a week,

or,

walk two miles in 30-40 minutes, six to seven days a week

A WORD OF WARNING, CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR IF:

you're over 35, or overweight

you have a personal or family history of high blood pressure or heart disease

you haven't had a checkup in the last two years

P.S. If you don't have a doctor why not find one now that you can check out when you're feeling good and can ask questions that you'll have the energy to process and consider.
