Strong Women Stay Young

by Miriam E. Nelson, Ph.D., Bantam Books

The byline reads, "Turn Back the Clock in Just Two At-Home Sessions Per Week!" This scientifically proven strength-training program replaces fat with muscle, reverses bone loss, improves energy and balance.

Sounds too good to be true, but it is. Improving your strength through basic weight training (not the same as body building) is critical for women. This book provides up-to-the minute scientific information, step-by-step instructions, motivational tips, diagrams and pictures that bring the exercises to life. Improving your strength improves your quality of life. Plus, as your muscles grow, so will your self-confidence and self-esteem.

Stick To It! The Power Of Positive Persistence

by C. Leslie Charles.

Persistence is the most important behavior required by those wanting to make lifestyle changes that last. Stick To It! is like a vitamin a day in persistence nutrition.

The cornerstone of this book is the understanding that we are alil able to improve through gradualism: the consistent and persistent application of new and better ideas and new ways of thinking.

Every time I pick up this book, I smile, nod, sigh and recommit myself to life. This book is also written by a woman who "walks her talk." May I suggest you take her insights as your "One A Day" to encourage you to "keep on keepin' on" in your commitment to centered, healthy living. To order, call 1-800-670-7535.

You Don't Have To Go Home From Work Exhausted.

by Ann McGee-Cooper, (1990)Dallas: Bowen & Rogers

I have rarely had as much fun reading a book, nor one that I learned so much from. Halfway through the book, I was so inspired and excited, I put the book down and reorganized my office. I created an environment that "reflected my style," which inspired me to be more creative and efficient.

The book's visuals and action idea sections are humorous, powerful and memorable. Ann McGee-Cooper hits on all the important aspects of creating a life that is health enhancing, creativity triggering and highly productive -- all of which positively affects your home and work. A must read keeper. (I buy copies at Target !)

My defining statement is to help women simplify their lives and take charge of their health. In

keeping with that, I've found two "gotta have" books.
