Resisting change can really be a
mistake. Consider how much more pleasant life could have been if earlier
Americans had been better at handling change. It took Americans over 20 years to
get used to the idea of toilet paper. The 1857 inventor, Joseph Gayetty,
actually went out of business because there was no demand for this product.

Doing more things or doing things
faster is no substitute for doing right things.
Most adults lose
about one half pound of muscle per year after the age of 20. This is largely due
to decreased activity. Muscle tissue is partly responsible for the number of
calories burned at rest. In other words, the more muscle you have, the more
calories you will burn -- all the time.
Whether or not
you get sick with a cold after being exposed to a virus depends on many factors
that affect your immune system. Old age, cigarette smoking, mental stress, poor
nutrition and lack of sleep have all been associated with impaired immune
function and increased risk of infection.
If you cut out one can of soda.
and one tablespoon of Italian dressing a day, and walk two 15-minute miles
daily, you'll have trimmed 500 calories off your daily diet. After seven days,
you'll have cut 3, 500 calories.
You should never drop below 1,200
calories a day A calorie count that low makes it nearly impossible to get the
vitamins and minerals you need.
It takes your brain about twenty
minutes to register that your stomach is full, so slow down so you don t eat
m6re calories than you need.
I have been an ongoing advocate
of eating breakfast. Just in case the message hasn't sunk in yet, check out the
results from this study from Mayo Clinic. "People who skipped breakfast had
lower resting metabolic rates throughout the entire day, even if you exercise
and eat right later. Other studies have found that people who skip breakfast
never make up those lost nutrients during the day" Fruit, toast, yogurt or
even leftovers from dinner can kick start your metabolism and increase your
energy right from the start of the day
What’s the difference between
sea salt and reagular salt? The difference is minimal since both are more than
99 percent sodium chloride. Sea salt does contain a few trace minerals. But when
you’re 99 percent sodium chloride, it doesn’t leave a lot of room for other
nutrients. Also many sea salts have as many additives as regular salt. The best
idea, use other seasonings to add flavor to your foods.
What have you thrown out today?
Each day, look for items, clothes, utensils, books, pillows, appliances that you
do not use and either throw them out or donate them to a good cause. We have
three local charities that pick up right from our door once a quarter. We keep a
donate box in the garage that we fill and get rid of regularly
